The Manager of IT Procurement oversees the processes, documentation and budgets associated with information technology assets and professional services. This role demands a strategic approach to facilitating IT contract negotiations with technology vendors, services organizations, and legal teams, both internal and external. Additionally, the person in this role will work closely with Finance and IT leadership to organize and manage an overall IT budget considering hardware and software assets, services, and department team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Utilize a broad knowledge of technology contracting processes to lead teams in preparing requests for information and proposals. Analyze the competitive market and evaluate proposals.

Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of IT hardware, software, and services.

Partner with internal legal teams to develop standard templates for IT software and hardware contracts, statements of work, and related material.

Support IT leadership throughout the negotiation process, aiding in the drafting of contracts and finalization of agreements.

Continually scrutinize the IT software and hardware expense items looking for ways to standardize providers, and reduce costs and contract complexity.

Oversee stakeholder participation in negotiations and contracting processes.

Network and build relationships with technology vendors to ensure contracts are managed appropriately.

Assist IT leadership with managing the budget by ensuring leaders are aware of contract expiration dates, renewal terms, changes since contracts were signed, and strategic direction in the associated domains.

Maintain supplier score cards and facilitate annual supplier reviews.

Manage support staff as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

7+ years of proven industry experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts and collaborating with legal teams to secure favorable terms

Prior experience in financial management and basic accounting

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal terms for a general audience.

Strong verbal and written communications skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Ability to work multiple projects under tight deadlines while collaborating with multiple departments and suppliers

Desired:

Previous experience working within IT (industry may vary - retail, hospitality, etc.)
