Emarsys

Reporting to the Technical Team Leader, Software Developer is responsible for developing Emarsys software applications using a variety of programming languages. They actively participate in the full development cycle and work especially close with other Developers (pair-programming) and Product Managers.

YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and operate microservices serving Emarsys products in a team of software developers and data scientists.
• Recommend and execute improvements. Provide recommendations on possible technical solutions and time/effort estimations. 
• Participate in architectural design of services.
• Implement appropriate design patterns for the tasks at hand.
• Produce clean, efficient, maintainable code based on specifications within the planned timeline.
• Actively mentor and guide team members to improve (junior software developers and data scientists).
• Actively participate in the full product lifecycle, from idea through design and develop till maintenance.
• Find simple technical solutions to complex business problems.
• Ensure proper testing, debugging and maintenance of new and existing code.
• Implement security standards and ensure low operations costs of services.
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• Follow Agile practices and participate in Agile ceremonies within the Team.
• Collaboration and effective communication within the Team
• Develop high quality software that meets customer demands.
• On-call duties – mainly availability, incidents are rare

YOUR PROFILE

• Strong knowledge of programming languages and frameworks, including PHP, Javascript, Java, Springboot.
• Experience in building scalable, cloud-based applications, preferably on Google’s ecosystem (Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with Docker
• Previous experience with Agile practices. Scrum or Extreme Programming (XP) is a strong plus. 
• Readiness to learn new programming languages, techniques, and tools.
• Familiar with OO, SOLID, TDD, CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
• A University degree in Computer Science is preferred but is not mandatory. 
• Min. communicative level in English.
• Keen to share knowledge among the developer community.
