Job Summary 

Position Description

The Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions in the Finance area. Appointments will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Finance and Economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to teaching, the position requires an active agenda of research and publication.

The appointment commences for the fall 2024 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Finance or Economics or a related discipline is required prior to employment; those with ABD status will be considered at the application/interviewing stage. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Education and Experience: Potential candidates applying for a senior rank must have (1) a sufficient record of publication in the A journals in management related areas — specifically the list of 24 journals underpinning the UTD Top 100 Business School Research RankingsTM (see top100.utdallas.edu); (2) a demonstrated record in research and teaching. Experience in successfully working with doctoral students will be a plus. Applicants for the Assistant Professor ranks should demonstrate the ability to publish in the same set of journals as senior candidates. The Finance area welcomes applications from candidates with expertise in issues related to sustainability and finance.

ABOUT FINANCE: The Finance area is comprised of scholars with a diverse set of backgrounds and interests. Faculty in the Finance area conduct active research covering asset pricing, corporate finance, and other finance related fields. The Finance area has an active PhD program and offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programs. The area holds regular research seminars and the annual UTD Finance Conference.

ABOUT JSOM (jindal.utdallas.edu): The Jindal School of Management (JSOM) is the largest school within UT Dallas with an enrollment of more than 10,400 students. Based on publications in 24 top journals tracked by the UTD Top 100 Business School Research RankingsTM, JSOM ranks 2nd in research productivity in North America during 2018-2022.
