Join our team at Danfoss Climate Solutions, where we're on a journey towards greater energy efficiency, developing next-generation products from concept to launch. We're seeking a Senior Control Engineer to join a dedicated engineering team who build up model-based design capabilities in our electronics department in Commercial Compressor. Location will be in Nordborg, Denmark, or Flensburg, Germany.

Job Responsibilities

As our new Senior Control Engineer you will be responsible for defining, developing, and testing control algorithms to various application areas and for creating simulation models to make our products more energy efficient and intelligent. As a member of the control team, you will collaborate with hardware design engineers, software engineers, compressor design engineers to create next generation frequency converter and compressor controls that help our customers to develop the best products in their industry.

As a part of the control team, responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Define and develop next generation motor control algorithms for our compressor.
  • Define and develop the most suited/appropriate control algorithms for other compressor applications, including condensing units.
  • Perform computer-based modelling & simulation in Matlab/Simulink
  • Perform proof of concept development and validation of advanced control algorithms.
  • Assist design teams in solving problems within your area of expertise.
  • Document engineering results in engineering reports, trade magazine articles, white papers, and conference papers.

Background & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should hold a master’s degree in engineering. You can apply creative approaches and ideas to solve unfamiliar problems and maximize the effective use of appropriate resources.

Furthermore, you should have:

  • Strong knowledge of model-based design
  • Strong skills at control theory and data analytics.
  • Extensive experience in Matlab / Simulink environment.
  • Experience in motor control algorithm and HVAC application control
  • Experience in embedded programming (e.g. C/C++ language) will be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate in a global organization.
  • Good written and spoken English.
