We’re here for it. We think you should be too. We’re looking for a driven professional with an inclusive mindset to join our team as a Planner (Merchandise and Inventory) for Hudson Grace. 

This is a hybrid position based out of our Sausalito, CA corporate office. The team currently works four days/week in the office with flexibility to work from home one day per week (typically Fridays). 

The Planner is a new position for the Hudson Grace brand and is responsible for the inventory strategy and financial forecasts. This position executes inventory allocation, forecasting, and seasonal assortment and financial planning. The goal is to maximize company sales growth and profitability by working closely with the finance and merchandising team on designing and implementing thoughtful inventory strategies that promote profitable sales growth and satisfy customer demand. 

A day in the life as a Planner…

  • Partner with Merchants and Director of Finance to create pre-season, item-level sales plans that align with product rankings, merchandising strategies and financial goals
  • Design inventory strategies that balance the composition of new and core, carry-over merchandise, support in-stock and turn objectives, and fit within the bounds of each department’s budget
  • Determine item level order quantities and partner with Merchant to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders
  • Recommend actions for items on or at risk of backorder. Be aware of current lead times for all vendors and countries of origin
  • Own monthly forecasting of company open-to-buy and recommend actions to achieve sales goals and budgeted inventory EOMs
  • Partner with the Merchandising team to determine markdown strategies non-go forward products, as well as identifying items for promotions that are heavily stocked to ensure efficient inventory flow from our warehouse

What you’ll bring to the table…

  • Strong financial acumen and experience presenting data and analysis
  • Aptitude for spreadsheet and planning tools; Ability to learn new software to support the launch of new planning, allocation, and supply chain management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Strong detail orientation, organized, ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently to prioritize activities based on business needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all levels in the organization
  • Understanding of the annual and seasonal buying plans, distribution needs and requirements, and goals of the Merchandising team

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • Minimum of 3 years in retail merchandising, planning/allocation or similar experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with inventory management, product pipeline process design, and promotional strategies
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel; proven ability to interpret data and extract actionable insights that drive the business
  • Proficiency in retail math and experience managing a traditional open-to-buy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
