Cloudera is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in advancing Cloudera’s product offerings in the cloud. Since its origin, Cloudera has enabled several enterprise organizations to effectively manage and use their data using on-premise infrastructure. We are now building software solutions that enable our customers to leverage cloud infrastructure to facilitate their growing data needs, and thereby accelerating Cloudera’s next stage of growth.

As a Staff Software Engineer you will be...

• Building the control plane for Cloudera Public Cloud
• Designing, coding, and implementing elegant, scalable, distributed, enterprise-quality application services
• Working to enhance developer velocity and team agility
• Building strong relationships and collaborate with platform and SRE engineers, quality engineers, UX designers, as well as, Product Management, Field Engineering, and other external partners.

We are excited about you if you have...

• 8+ years of industry experience building data processing solutions at scale with a focus on maintainability, operability, and security.
• Java and GOLANG are preferred, but we’re equally happy hiring people versed in C/C++/C#/Scala.
• Understanding of DBMS algorithms and data structure fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and mesh-networks
• Experience with native cloud-provider services on AWS and Azure like EKS/AKS, object storage, virtual networks, …
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structure fundamentals.
• Experience working on systems-level problems.
• Proven experience designing and implementing features in large distributed systems that scale well – to petabytes of data and thousands of nodes.
• Ability to work in a distributed setting with team members spread in multiple geographies
• Demonstrated ability to work on large cross-functional projects, including strong written communication skills and a collaborative mindset, as you will be working with many teams inside and outside of Cloudera.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

You may also have...

• Experience building secure systems that handle sensitive data
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with containerization technology such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with microservices and API development.
