Overview

  • Training Specialist, Revenue Cycle, Days, 80 Hrs / 2 wks
  • Location: Varies by training needs; Hybrid schedule opportunities available. 

The Revenue Cycle Operations Training Specialist will assist in the design, development and facilitation of training and development programs. The Specialist will work with information systems on all testing and training for EPIC related upgrades. Should possess strong presentation skills in order to effectively deliver training and orientation sessions to adult learners. Maintains documentation of training activities. Handles registration and training logistics. Prepares and administers competency tests. Will be responsible for documentation of Visio workflow processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development and coordination of training sessions, programs and competency testing for Revenue Cycle Operations.
  • Prepare, assemble and revise course materials annually or as requested to meet department needs.
  • Achieve and maintain a solid understanding of the business environment as a whole, including business practices, processes and strategies;
  • Conduct training, development, competency testing and general orientation sessions for partners in all areas of Revenue Cycle including Patient Access, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care and Coding;
  • Assist in evaluation of effectiveness of training programs;
  • Develop presentation materials, lead meetings and facilitate workgroups;
  • Maintain master training calendar, ensure availability of equipment, space and materials.
  • Prepare course advertising materials; coordinate schedule of external and internal training resources.
  • Communicate all set ups of training sessions and ensure necessary materials and supplies are available.
  • Follow-up with staff in-person after completion of trainings to ensure competency or retraining as necessary.
  • Work with management team to provide additional support including coaching and in-services.
  • Facilitate, and measure regular quality audits across the Revenue Cycle areas to ensure areas meet organizational objectives;
  • Conduct quality audits and provide feedback to division leadership;
  • Provide analysis of the quality metrics and updates on Revenue Cycle dashboard;
  • Identify and facilitate lean initiatives for areas that fail to meet performance metrics;
  • Demonstrate collaboration and flexibility to deliver education when most convenient for the department;
  • Partner with information systems to test all EPIC upgrades for Revenue Cycle areas with keen understanding of changes and impacts to revenue cycle processes.
  • Document department workflows and inter-departmental impacts via Visio workflow documentation
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements during workflow documentation and notifies leadership of such opportunities.
  • Create and maintain workflow documentation and training materials in a central storage location to allow partner accessibility when needed.
  • Partner with all team members to achieve goals;
  • Receptive to others' ideas and opinions;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

3 years - Experience, developing, planning and facilitating training materials, performance improvement and program management. Strong analytical, oral, and written communication & presentation skills. (Required)

3 years - Revenue cycle related functions in conjunction with training (Required)

Certification/Licensure

Required to have or obtain within the first year the following Epic certifications: EPIC PB/HB Resolute or Cadence Certification; Demonstrated experience with Epic TED (training environment design) and training tools. Preferred HFMA CRCR certification.
