Licensed Hemodialysis Technicians are eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus for full time positions (prorated for part time positions). This position is also eligible for a relocation package of up to $5,200.
The University of Vermont Medical Center is the primary provider of care for most patients with kidney, or renal, diseases in Vermont and for many patients in northern New York.
Our Nephrology service provides renal replacement therapies for patients with end-stage renal disease including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and continuous renal replacement therapies in the intensive care unit. Here, we have an experienced staff committed to training patients for a variety of home dialysis therapies. In conjunction with the Department of Surgery, the Nephrology service provides support for kidney transplantation and for kidney/pancreas transplantation.
The UVM Medical Center has an extensive outreach program with dialysis units in Barre, Rutland, St. Albans, South Burlington, and Newport.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Certified Hemodialysis technicians are members of a team of health care providers for patients requiring hemodialysis treatments. Certified Hemodialysis Technicians provide direct care to outpatients under the supervision of an RN. The Certifed Hemodialysis Technician prepares dialysis machines, initiates, monitors and discontinues hemodialysis treatments.
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate, National Hemodialysis Technician Certification
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 12 months as a hemodialysis technician; completion of FAHC hemodialysis orientation. Demonstrated ability to care for a three patient assignment per patient shift.
