Prime Air is seeking an experienced Manager of Global Commodity Mgt to join our team in Austin TX, or Seattle, WA.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that has a meaningful, measurable impact on company success.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and Lead a Group of Sr. Global Commodity Managers.
  • Able to dive deep across multiple business lines who use similar categories and commodities to leverage our supplier base to optimize performance, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Earn trust with internal business partners; establish enduring relationship, build a robust understanding of commodities, strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across suppliers and/or spend categories.
  • Develop global sourcing strategies to deliver against business plans, goals and objectives for internal clients.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the Strategic Sourcing strategy development process.
  • Drive results by leveraging RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
  • Work with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, optimizing the return on investment and total cost of ownership.
  • Serve as an advisor, facilitator, and educator to internal stakeholders on developing and executing sourcing strategies.
  • Engage the appropriate subject matter experts, including Legal, Tax, Risk, and Information Security, to evaluate and develop strategies to mitigate third party risk

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration.
  • 7+ years of relevant strategic sourcing experience including vendor negotiations with design/construction vendors, global contract management, process improvement , operational and financial analysis.
  • 7+ years of experience in new product introduction (NPI), procurement, supply chain, inventory management and operations.
  • Experience owning supply chain strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering or Operations
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts forecasting, planning, sourcing, optimization, logistics
  • Familiarity with supply chain , operational , cost and financial analysis
  • Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, bench-marking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.).
  • Experience developing tools, reports, process maps, scorecards, and data visualizations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $242,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
