FLSmidth is seeking a Junior Sensor and Embedded Software Engineer. The engineer will work in a team environment supporting a platform for advanced sensors in the mining industry, including computer vision with deep learning, and digital signal processing on accelerometer and vibration sensors. The full stack includes React + Typescript front end, Scala + OpenCV backend, and MongoDB as storage.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop new sensors for the mining industry
  • Program sensors firmware and software in a team environment
  • Interaction with internal stakeholders
  • Plan and execute new applications added to the platform
  • Own and assist with documentation
  • Working with other internal developers
  • Debugging
  • Identify new technologies, trends, and opportunities

What you bring:

Experience with React + Typescript, Scala, OpenCV, and MongoDB. We realize that it is unlikely that a candidate has experience with all the technologies used in this role, but we do expect a strong proficiency in React.

  • Experience with programming
  • Experience with circuit design
  • Experience with robotics, embedded systems, or hardware
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a growth-mindset and highly collaborative team environment.
  • Preferably you have experience with industrial software and the concepts of operator humane-machine interfacing (HMI)
  • You're excited to get things done, in a fast-paced environment
  • You work well in teams and enjoy collaborating with others
