What is the Investment Operations Data and Analytics Team responsible for?

  • The Investment Operations Data and Analytics team is responsible for supporting data and analytics needs of primarily the Investment Operations back-office business unit, and also services other business units like Legal and Compliance, Sales and Distributions etc. The Data and Analytics team is responsible for building innovative cloud native applications to service Investment Operations business functions, consolidate Investment Operations data to Franklin’s cloud data platform (Snowflake) and making this data available to consumers and citizen developers#MID_SENIOR_LEVEL

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Lead Software Engineer?

  • Lead Software Engineer Provides expertise, experience, and technical leadership for application design/development and production support activities to support business needs.
  • Leads the definition of software design, development, and integration, and production support of highly complex issues.
  • Mentors and develops more junior engineers.
  • This is a senior level resource for a new team being setup and will need specific technical and business skills to be able to mentor and train team members, and interface with business users.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • We are looking for an experienced engineer who can design, develop, maintain and support applications our business needs. Responsible for designing, developing, testing and coordinating implementation of Markit EDM based application software to support Franklin's Performance and Attribution business unit. The job requires the candidate to provide production support for applications.
  • Knowledge of both development and production support is necessary.

Specific technical skillset needed:

  • Data Engineering, ETL, Oracle PL/SQL, MarkITEDM, Knowledge of Snowflake and Python preferable.

Business Knowledge Required:

  • Exposure to Middle and Back office Investment Operations including but not limited to Pricing, Valuation, Performance and Attribution, Fund Accounting 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, masters degree preferable
  • 10+ years of total experience
  • 5+ years of experience in MarkIT EDM
  • Experience in data modeling and ETL development
  • Proficiency in SQL and query optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Mentoring skills and ability to train other team members on MarkIT EDM

Work Shift Timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
