Role Summary

Rivian is seeking a detail oriented, critical thinking, and self-starting analytics leader with the technical and business chops to shed light on the performance and productivity, among other critical aspects, of the Marketing organization. Output enables users to zoom into the root cause of the problem set 

Responsibilities

  • Manage marketing analytics function and coach and lead a team of analytics professionals, developing necessary processes, building necessary analytics infrastructure and capabilities, establishing organizational and cross functional scorecards to measure success in addition to developing and achieving strategic priorities
  • Build, coach and mentor a high performing team of analysts to efficiently mine, validate, and generate insights out of data and reporting to help drive strategic and operational decisions; develop a reputation across Rivian as a trusted source of insight and a consistent driver of growth
  • Synthesize the key questions relevant to business decision makers and design the tools, dashboards, and reports that best answer them
  • Analyze marketing campaign performance, consumer behavior, and market trends to identify actionable insights
  • Research the impact of experiential marketing events and activations on brand awareness, customer engagement, and conversion rates and provide recommendations
  • Utilize advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling techniques to optimize marketing strategies and drive business growth
  • Incorporate prescriptive analytics to recommend specific actions to improve marketing effectiveness and brand awareness, enhance customer engagement, maximize ROI, and develop proactive strategies for responding to market dynamics and competitive threats
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to inform marketing strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Use prescriptive analytics to develop proactive strategies for responding to market dynamics and competitive threats
  • Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support product development, pricing strategies, and customer segmentation to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Inform earnings reporting, Board of Directors and provide operational context for investor and shareholder meetings
  • Key collaboration partners include Product Management, Communications, Sales, IT, Finance, Treasury, Digital Technology, business line managers (e.g., Insurance, Financing), Customer Service, and Commercial Operations
  • Collaborate with the IT team to build out Marketing (digital and experiential) data infrastructure, pipelines, ETLs, and security within the data warehouse
  • Streamline information accessibility and data normalization through lean and continuous improvement methodologies

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of related business experience in analytics and/or decision science demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility with emphasis on various financial and operational reporting including revenue/cost management,
  • 5+ years of experience in roles supporting executive decision making, such as consulting, corporate strategy, or business operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, advanced business acumen mindset
  • Excellent communicator, with ability to partner at the most senior levels of the finance organization and experience presenting and build relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Experience with prescriptive analytics techniques and tools, such as optimization algorithms, simulation models, and decision support systems.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to lead, grow/cultivate, and motivate a diverse team
  • Experienced in start-up operations or launching new products quickly and successfully including integrating data from sources (3rd party, Excel, Smartsheet, Data Lake)
  • Ability to lead by example, attract and develop talent, build partnerships and create a culture of collaboration and high performing teams that fosters open communication, constructive feedback and organizational flexibility
  • Effective communication and strategic thinking skills required
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuous improvement attitude; ability to suggest and implement best practices
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Incorporates Gemba to validate findings; willing to travel (up to 10%)
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Proficient in SQL, Tableau, Excel, Python, R, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics
  • Passion for data driven decision making

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: [ $168,000 - $193,000 ] (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
