The primary responsibility of the Material Handler - Panel is to distribute production materials to their appropriate work areas, have awareness of inventory levels and communicate needs to production management, and support finished product preparedness for distribution. The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize. The ideal candidate will have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills to identify issues; work independently and as a team member and have knowledge and understanding of panel assembly.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures production staff are properly trained to safely execute job assignments
  • Ensures all material and parts are readily available for scheduled production in work area
  • Verifies all machine operator checklists are executed daily and issues are communicated to production management and maintenance staff
  • Ensures all in-process quality checks are being performed
  • Ensures daily 5S cleaning assignments are executed for work area
  • Continuously identifies opportunities for improvement and communicates to production management
  • Maintains a strong and collaborative work environment for responsible work area
  • Safely and effectively operates computer-aided systems

SCOPE

  • Identifies and communicates product design issues to production management
  • Ensures finished product quality meets expectations
  • Ensures daily production volume targets are achieved
  • Supports all additional tasks directed by production management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Adheres to PPE and safety requirements of the production facility
  • Maintains consistent housekeeping of work area
  • Is on time with consistent attendance and operates through shift end
  • Manages own time clock effectively
  • Is a team player and takes direction from production manager
  • Is willing to do what it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Follows instructions, willingness to learn and train when required
  • Consistently achieves high quality and volume targets of work area

REQUIRED EDUCATION

(degree, licenses, certifications, etc.)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Willingness to pursue training for trade knowledge advancement
  • Technical certification or training preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

(work related, tools/equipment, software, etc.):

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience or similar
  • Team lead or management experience preferred
  • Ability to use tape measure, framing square, nail/staple gun and hammer
  • Familiarity with automated systems and equipment
  • Ability to lift and push 50 lbs
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States
  • 40+ hours weekly including up to 2 Saturdays a month as scheduled
