About the role
Over 800 biomarker discovery and development projects, across more than 100 clinical studies, which generate 20 petabytes of patient data! All waiting for you to unlock the next breakthrough in medicine.
Biomarkers are critical components of translational research, enabling robust therapeutic and mechanistic hypothesis testing in early clinical development, and as precision medicine enablers e.g. defining patient subpopulations, predicting patient responses, and use as diagnostics in later stages. Biomarker development, as part of Translational Medicine in NVS, is a dedicated group of >100 associates with two focus areas: deliver innovative Biomarker solutions for clinical studies across the whole spectrum of methods (imaging/digital/soluble/cellular/DNA/RNA) with scientific experts in each field, and the TA matrix with experts to identify, communicate and implement the solutions efficiently in clinical teams, documents and decision boards with a guiding strategy for the respective compound and disease.
You will be leading a matrixed biomarker team of scientific experts to define the biomarker strategy and plan for a portfolio, defined by therapeutic mechanism or indication, from early to later stage clinical development. As a biomarker development project lead , you will be responsible to translate the preclinical discovery efforts into a clinical fit for purpose plan, oversee the integration into the clinical protocol and lead the review and discussions at the different teams and boards.
As the BML (BioMarker Development project Lead) in Biomedical Research/Translational Medicine/Biomarker Development (BMD) you will be responsible for:
