The Position

We would like to announce you that a new vacancy is now available in Service & Customer Support department of Diagnostics Division: Application Specialist – Molecular Biology, This new position is based in Bucharest.

In this role, you will be responsible to ensure the delivery of best in class application support and a differentiated customer experience in relation with a wide range of medical instruments and devices, Molecular Systems and Serum Working Area. You will offer application and software support for the assigned portfolio, while working closely with the service field and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, reliable and effective application specialist technical and scientific product troubleshooting support and assistance to customers in line with SLA requirements, within scope of authority and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Escalate complex application challenges to relevant personnel in accordance with procedures for swift resolution.
  • Maintain high level of customer engagement throughout on site visits with regular updates, feedback and on-the-job training to customers.
  • Provide technical and scientific application insights to customers to market Roche and its products and services in order to contribute to business development for assigned products.
  • Plan & facilitate customer presentations, training and materials on laboratory applications (beginners and advanced) for potential new and existing customers to develop their skills & capabilities. Use at maximum the Digital tools available.
  • Provide relevant business areas with technical or scientific application advice & support on relevant project & business activities.
  • Provide timely market research feedback to marketing and sales teams in accordance with business requirements.
  • Input into and/or completion of relevant information and administration on required report management systems.
  • Adhere to instrument manufacturing and operations standards, relevant SOPs and best practice guidelines relating to all application requirements, product bulletins and any new AS or quality SOPs.
  • Escalate cases to Global system and correctly marks it as PRI/PSI or not depending on the case.
  • Perform corrective visits to sites as part of case escalation.
  • Constantly check for QN/SBN and translates them. The clients are notify in a timely manner and all possible questions from them have to be answered accurately.

Key Requirements:

  • University degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medical Engineering or related. Molecular Biology knowledge is a must.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the medical, technical environment as a Technician or Laboratory Scientist.
  • Experience with good laboratory practice and accreditation requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge both practical and theoretical for some or all of the following areas: molecular biology, chemistry, immunology, coagulation, urinalysis, immuno-histopathology and hospital point of care.
  • Customer oriented person, with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to empathize with and prioritize customer needs.
  • Team player, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure, while paying attention to detail.
  • Able to cope with change and to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure timely and high-quality accomplishment.
  • Advanced knowledge of English (both written and spoken) and of MS Office suite
