Our IT Corporate Solutions Group (CSG) is looking for an experienced individual who can fill a permanent, fulltime Sr. DevOps Engineer (Network Infrastructure) on our IT for Enterprise team.

Within the CSG team there are various teams who work closely together on multiple initiatives, currently this team is more specific to the network. As a senior technical network infrastructure specialist, you will help design, maintain, monitor, and operate our network, datacenter infrastructure and cloud environment. You will join a team of engineers and analysts who are passionate about improving their systems and providing a great service to our internal stakeholders. We work fast, deliver high quality results, and promote innovation and efficiency.

What you will do:

  • Actively participate in agile scrum practices, such as daily standups, backlog refinement, planning and sprint retrospectives
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather the business and technical requirements needed to design and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Work on daily operations, incidents, and requests as per the processes in HOOPP’s environment.
  • Work on Initiatives (projects) in focusing on technical delivery and operational excellence
  • Assess, Design, Build and Support new features / enhancements
  • Create a safe, supportive, and participatory environment that produces ongoing mutual respect.
  • Adhere to change management & incident management and other defined standards
  • Lead the resolution of complex production issues spanning multiple systems and technologies
  • Develop and maintain service metrics dashboards for all systems and dependent components
  • Help support and sustain technology and process continuous improvements
  • Regularly write and maintain internal knowledge base articles and participate in issue and team retrospectives
  • Work with our Managed Services Provider(s) to provide uptime, product currency, and ensure we meet Service Level Objectives 
  • Remain current on new features and developments in the enterprise space 
  • Bring a security mindset to ensure HOOPP is protected and risks mitigated
  • Demonstrate innovations, and support knowledge-sharing across other IT Agile teams
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to team members, and promote efficiency, productivity
  • Collaborate with vendor(s) and support the scheduling of upgrades 
  • Improve system uptime and resiliency based on reported system performance data.
  • Identify repetitive tasks and build tools / processes for automation
  • Lead and/or contribute to design sessions, and support the community of subject matter experts
  • Develop standards, patterns, and practices to improve services and platforms
  • Support the maturity of HOOPP’s roadmaps, standards and practices, in collaboration with the Product Owner, architect(s), and Portfolio Lead
  • Continuously improve the triage and escalation process for system availability
  • Participate on the on-call and weekend rotation for afterhours support and incident management

What you bring:

  • Senior IT professional who is self-motivated, with deep analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum 7+ years of operations and project experience in progressively more senior roles including:
  • IT Infrastructure
  • Network
  • Cloud networking (IaaS, PaaS)
  • Security Operations
  • Expertise and working knowledge in multiple areas listed in our technology stack
  • In-depth conceptual knowledge and practical hands on expertise in IT architecture cloud infrastructure and technologies, scripting
  • Experience working with IT operational processes (e.g. incident management, change management, logging and monitoring, security etc.) and deep knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Strong knowledge of Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban, MVP, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps engineering
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security and how to secure HOOPP systems
  • Knowledge and experience with CI/CD and IT automation tools and practices (e.g. Azure DevOPs)
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS
  • Understand the benefits of automation, experienced with automating repetitive work
  • Hold relevant industry certifications (including, but not limited to)
  • Azure / AWS Certified (Networking / Security Specialization)
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, ISE
  • PCNSA, CISSP, CCSP
