Description

Under supervision, receives cash (or charge request) for items to be purchased after totaling on cash register, and makes appropriate change. Assists customers as needed. 

Qualifications

1. Enters all transactions into the cash register, total's customer's purchase, receives money from customer and makes correct change. Ensures all entries are accurate for items being purchased.

2. Enters employee charge numbers into cash register in order to bill employee for items purchased.

3. Assists customers with disabilities, or by request, with tray/items to tables, or in selection of items purchased.

4. Maintains appropriate positive relations at all times. Refers customers or their complaints to supervisor.

5. Maintains cash register surrounding area clean, neat, tidy and stocked.

6. Assists in A.M. opening of cafeteria and PM closing which includes stocking of items, breaking down and storing items at the end of service and the cleaning of the service area, condiment area and cafeteria.

7. As needed serves on cafeteria line.

8. Assists with cutting and portioning of desserts as needed.

9. Maintains and follows all department standards regarding cleanliness, sanitation, safety and health regulations.

10. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served.
