PATH is currently recruiting for a Senior Program Officer I, Immunization Systems Capacity Building to contribute to implementation of MICs Multi-Country Technical Assistance project funded by GAVI. Position will be active through September 30, 2025. Employment after that date is subject to availability of funds.

The goal of this proposed work is to provide technical assistance and capacity building support to the government and local partners in Ukraine to prevent or reverse backsliding of routine immunization vaccine coverage rates through development of training materials, tools, and strategies to build local capacity to improve routine immunization (RI) coverage rates in Ukraine with applicability to a wider set of middle-income countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the overall project leadership.
  • Execute communication with national immunization leadership, civil society community and other national and international partners and stakeholders.
  • Lead the development/adoption of training materials, tools, and strategies to build local capacity to improve routine immunization (RI).
  • Lead the adaptation and implementation of the immunization microplanning tool, contribute to the development of the generic project microplanning tool.
  • Lead training of health care workers in collaboration with rCDC immunization system personnel on an Excel-based microplanning tool.
  • Oversee engagement and capacity building of civil society organizations and engage specific communities in Dubrovytska Hromada to understanding and addressing challenges to vaccine access.
  • Lead the development and provision of clear and accurate information about the safety and importance vaccines and articulating how to access information to make the best decisions for their children.
  • Generate project reports.
  • Travel as required.

Desired qualifications:

  • Degree in public health, epidemiology, or infectious diseases.
  • More than 10 years of work experience in public health.
  • Experience working with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Public Health Center and regional health authorities.
  • More than 10 years of work experience in international NGO dedicated to health.
  • Extensive experience in coordination of multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Fluent Ukrainian, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.

Location: Ukraine, Kyiv

Must have legal authorization to work in the Ukraine.
