Pediatric Neurology Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary:

The Mass General Pediatric Stroke and Vascular Program (PSVP) is hiring a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to assist in the execution of clinical research studies and providing clinical services to both pediatric (mainly) and young adult population of patients with stroke, cerebral and cardiovascular disease including rare genetic vascular disorders. MGBfC Pediatric Stroke and Genetic Aortopathy Program is one of the first and leading programs in the country and is member of the International Pediatric Stroke Study and The Montalcino Aortic Consortiums, the two largest international organization. Our program follow more than 1000 patients ages newborn to young adulthood (55 years of age) and we are seeking a NP who will be interested in receiving multidisciplinary training by directly working in clinic with Dr. Musolino (stroke), Dr. Kenda Alhadid (Stroke Neurology), Dr. Danielle Pier (Pediatric Neurology), Dr. Grabowski (hematology), Dr. Lindsay (cardiology) and Dr. Wishart (physiatry) to prescribe and care for both children and adults. The Nurse Practitioner will half of their time in our multidisciplinary clinics (2 full days a week), have their own supervised NP clinic (half a day a week) and the rest of their time coordinating and seeing patients enrolled in clinical trials including interventional and biomarkers and natural history studies (50% clinic and 50% research). The PSVP NP will report on all clinical and programmatic matters to the Medical Directors. The PSVP NP will report on all nursing administrative matters to the Nurse Director/Manager from Neurology. The HTC NP position is a unique opportunity that combines working closely with our patients and families affected by rare vascular disorders with some administrative and research responsibilities as described below. The NP may also spend 1-2 sessions of their clinic time in Neuropathy and Genetics clinic.

Qualifications

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable): 

  • Current licensure as an advanced practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

EDUCATION: 

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in nursing or physician assistant studies

EXPERIENCE: 

  • New graduates will be considered however at least one full year of APP experience is preferred
