General Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Risk Assessment, the Information Security Intern will assist in a variety of departmental responsibilities. Responsibilities include providing customer support in the ServiceNow Ticketing system, conducting preliminary research for risk assessments, providing support for remediation activities and supporting Mass General Brigham’s electronic governance, risk and compliance platform (ARCHER). In addition, based on the incumbent Intern’s interests and aptitudes, this candidate will have the opportunity to engage in special projects as time and availability allow.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • ServiceNow Ticketing
  • Support customer needs based on inquiries
  • Develop training or perform outreach regarding customer inquiries
  • Provide support for special projects including risk remediation activities and project management support
  • Conduct preliminary research for risk assessment requests
  • Learn security considerations for research programs
  • Support data sharing request workflows
  • Data rationalization, normalization and reporting
  • Supporting tasks associated with governance risk compliance platform (ARCHER)
  • Support Information Security Officers, security operations or others for special projects as needed and available

Qualifications

  • Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels
  • Self-directed and capable of independent work with strong application of critical thinking
  • Ability to be flexible, versatile, and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Willingness to work in the hospital
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of database management a plus
  • Some project management skills and technical/information security background
