We are recruiting for Senior Software Engineer for our Data Marketplace team. It is a full-time Grade D role to be based in our GITC site at Chennai. 

As part of AstraZeneca’s Enterprise Data Marketplace (EDM) capability we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the hands-on engineering of user interfaces, APIs, data models, and workflows (using BPMN, Groovy script, and other tools). This means accountability for the clarity & accuracy of diagrams, excellence of code & test-driven development, and collaborating with the Business Analyst, Project Manager, Scrum Master, and Tech Lead (Chennai-based principal engineer), to ensure effective day-to-day execution of a metrics-driven SDLC. 

You will need a collaborative delivery approach to be successful. We use Scaled Agile with standard-length program increments (12-14 weeks). You will provide technical leadership throughout our software development lifecycle, from the initial development of a technical design based on a blueprint, right through to hypercare. Essential skills and experience 

• Deep understanding and practical knowledge of IDE’s eg Eclipse/PyCharm or any Workflow Designer. 
• Experience of one or more of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, 
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience of CICD processes and tooling e.g. GitHub. 
• Experience working in Dev-Ops teams in based Kubernetes tools 
• Prior work experience in converting a business workflow into an automated set of actions. 
• Proven knowledge in scripting and a willingness to learn new languages. 
• Hands-on experience in database concepts and fair idea about Data classification, lineage, storage is a plus 
• Fantastic written & spoken English, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to delivery. 
• An enthusiasm for great documentation (e.g., high level designs, low level designs, coding standards, Knowledge Base Articles). 

Desirable skills and experience 

• Engineering Degree in IT/Computer Science with minimum 8 years of experience 
• Knowledge and experience of Collibra Data Governance platform. 
• Exposure to platforms like Talend Data Catalog, BigID or Snowflake is an advantage 
• Basic AWS knowledge is a plus 
• Knowledge and experience of Integration technologies like Mulesoft and Snaplogic. 
• Excellent Jira skills including the ability to rapidly generate JQL on-the-fly and save JQL queries/filters/views/etc for publishing to fellow engineers & senior stakeholders. 
• Creation of documentation in Confluence. 
• Experience of Agile practices, preferably having been part of an Agile team for several years.
