Main Purpose:

Maintenance

1. Improve equipment availability and reliability. Align equipment availability and reliability according with the operation needs. (Increase MTBF and decrease MTTR ).

2. Approve the Annual Maintenance Plan and the Annual Maintenance Budget (Opex)

3. Cost Control based on equipment budget. Correct deviations from budget based on the analysis of the cost structure; i) Materials, ii) Outside Services Providers, iii) Tools and iv) Labor.

4. Ensure the lowest Maintenance cost, so that it is reflected in a lower TCO of equipment/components, to sustain equipment performance over the assets’ lifecycle.

5. Maintain an updated "5 Year Replacement Program" of equipment and components.

6. Ensure compliance with Puma HSE Standards.

7. Ensure the implementation and Compliance for the Puma Retail Maintenance Strategies and Standards.

8. Achieve the maintenance goals and KPI’s set out.

9. Implementation of maintenance campaigns

10. Reporting.

Engineering

11. To provide an effective and efficient Engineering Management Service translating these into functional requirements, technical specifications as per the Puma Retail standard, project formulation, design, tender formulation, change management, standard setting, search and selection of vendors, installers and supports, construction and budget.

12. Providing efficient leadership and management to the engineering field operations and ensure that Puma’s standards and policies are complied with by both the Contractors and Engineering Staff

13. Drive Key Performance Indicators across all Engineering functions to ensure all Retail and Business-to-Business projects and maintenance programs are timely executed and delivered to the highest workmanship and standards.

14. To contribute as part of the Management Team to the future direction of the business and to achievement of the company’s strategic vision and mission.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance:

  • Continuous improvement activities control derived from performance analysis (KPIs analysis), proactive tasks effectiveness assessment and from root cause analysis to overcome “bad-actors” performance.
  • Maintain an updated program of the turnaround, overhaul and major maintenance of equipment of the facilities.
  • To Implement the Standard Maintenance Policies and Processes defined by the Global Maintenance department.
  • To evaluate (technically and economically) the need to continue repairing or buy a new one (equipment /component). Monthly report of main KPIS, MMTR, MTBF, Maintenance Budget (Actual vs Target).
  • To control the WO Backlog on a weekly basis to ensure that schedule includes up-dated priority work.
  • To define the criticality of the equipment and components, as well as the criticality of spare parts; in order to define maintenance strategy and prioritize the planning and scheduling tasks.
  • To determine proactive maintenance tasks effectiveness.
  • To approve the Annual Maintenance Plan and the Annual Maintenance Budget. The Annual Maintenance Budget has to prepare using the Zero Based Budget method. (Costing the resources of the Job Packages). 
  • To control the execution of the Annual Maintenance Plan and the Annual Maintenance Budget. (monthly basis).
  • To control and reduce the level of corrective work, using Failures Analysis and developing actions to address the “bad-actors” of the equipment performance
  • To control the contractor performance based on SLA, MTBF and Failure rates.
  • To control recording events and failures, its occurrence in time and duration, and failure modes associated, so that allows the determination of "bad-actors" in the performance of equipment.
  • Ensure that local maintenance organizations are sufficiently staffed, trained and aligned with the Puma Maintenance Strategy.
  • Ensure that local maintenance organizations are understand the roles and responsibilities with reference to the standard job profiles within the organization.
  • Continuously review and improve maintenance processes with the RMS.

Engineering:

  • Coordinating design consultants, architects, engineers and quantity surveyors with the compilation of design layouts of projects to ensure conformity with Puma’s standards of quality, design and safety Providing customers / dealers and staff where applicable of Puma’s Retail specific standards and project requirements.
  • Monitoring expenditure of sanctioned items against national budget and to compile monthly reports on such expenditure.
  • Coordinating project definition workshops and design meetings during the currency of the project. Lead, motivate, communicate, develop, appraise and performance manage engineering staff to ensure they are motivated to achieve best performance in order to meet company’s business needs.
  • To ensure that all engineering staff and contractors undertake their duties in compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • To ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exits by adhering to company Environment, Health and Safety policies and ensure compliance with relevant legislations and statutory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • Lobbying local authorities in respect of fit for purpose legislation and regulation.

Other responsibilities:

  • To ensure all roles on the maintenance dept. have been performed accordingly, i.e., Scheduler and Supervisor roles.
  • Responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.
  • To ensure that the Equipment Hierarchy is based on ISO 14224.
  • To ensure that the Failures codes are based on ISO 14224.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Education:

Bachelor degree/Diploma in any Engineering field, any additional related field will be added advantage Good command of English both written and spoken is required. Bilingual proficiency is an advantage

Experience:

Possess a sound knowledge and on the job experience in Projects, Engineering and Maintenance Environment. 8 to 10 years of experience in similar position. Ability to work independently and with diverse teams. Experience in Oil Industry will be an added advantage.

Skills:

Ability to generate and interpret statistical reports Interpersonal skill and ability to work in a team is preferred Computer Skills, especially Micro Soft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Customer-centric

Competencies:

Knowledge of Project & Maintenance planning is relevant Ability to work with Microsoft Office is crucial Understanding of Customer support system is preferred Ability to work independently is an advantage Understanding of HSSE system Good Communication Skills Teamwork oriented Driving skills is mandatory Planning & Organizing Skills is important
