JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Conferences and Institutes is seeking individuals with subject knowledge to assist with content development and the instruction in the Summer Intensive Language Institute, which includes courses in Arabic, Chinese, English as a Second Language, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. An occasional need for other languages such as Yoruba and Swahili. 

Responsibilities for the instructors include identification of objectives, preparation of learning materials and activities, and presentation of specific subjects. Prior experience and the ability to engage learners is preferred. 

Completing required Penn State compliancy trainings through the Penn State LRN (Learning Resource Network) is essential along with obtaining the following 3 publicly available clearances:

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form 
  • FBI Criminal Background Check

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
