Overview and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a data engineer to join us! Paramount Global’s Vantage is the leading advanced advertising platform in the industry, bringing audience-based solutions to clients with activations that span our massive linear, digital, and addressable TV portfolio. Advertising on all formats is being reinvented through new business models and the combination of big data, predictive analytics, optimization and other modern data science and analysis techniques. Paramount Advanced Advertising is at the forefront of this reinvention!

This role entails the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large scale data structures and pipelines to organize data for new and existing projects and data products.
  • Lead and optimize data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and distributed computing systems.
  • Implement solutions for scalability, reliability, and performance tuning to support growing data needs.
  • Monitor and optimize data delivery and develop tools for real-time and offline analysis; recommend ways to constantly improve data quality and reliability.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, project managers, and other collaborators to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a professional Data Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, informatics, information systems, or a related quantitative or computational field.
  • Experience in constructing scalable applications and showcasing a profound comprehension of database structures, principles, and standard methodologies.
  • Proven track record in integrating data from various disparate sources.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Independent problem-solver, with strong analytical thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a multifaceted, fast-paced, and agile environment.
  • Experience building scalable applications using Python, TypeScript, SQL, and cloud services
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools and version control systems
  • Experience designing and deploying automated testing for data pipelines
  • Experience identifying and applying transformations to extract value from low-level data.
  • Experience crafting dashboards to visualize/maintain data pipelines
  • Experience crafting and orchestrating containerized instances of code (via Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehouse providers (Redshift/Snowflake).
  • Hands-on experience in API development and knowledge of standard processes.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience working with performant machine learning tools/algorithms (e.g., xgboost/lightGBM, pytorch/tensorflow, AWS Sagemaker)
  • Proven success in optimally collaborating with various internal business units, collaborators, and partners.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $85,600.00 - 107,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
