Your Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Develop advanced algorithms to ensure thorough and accurate search of relevant literature.
  • Extract data from health authority and regulatory agencies websites, transforming, cleaning and analyzing large data sets.
  • Identify and implement automation of reoccurring data requests.
  • Act as key partner for all Intellectual Property/Data Integration related questions from internal and external sources.
  • Integrate output of historic searches into data tools to enable easy retrieval and management of information, e.g. keyword search, text mining.
  • Perform search requests in small molecules, using a variety of databases, consolidating findings of patent and non-patent literature in structured reports
  • Acquire a deep understanding of patent data, data connections and build the data related foundation to develop algorithms for advanced analytics.
  • Understand how IP search requests are structured, refined and analyzed to support freedom-to-operate and validity searches

Role Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry or a chemistry-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in working with SQL and Python
  • Excellent programming skills, data extraction, data cleaning and transforming, as well as analysing large data sets
  • Experience in web crawling, data scraping and with visualization tools like Qlik
  • Track record in successful completion of complex data science projects, including data analytics and machine learning.
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset
  • Fluent English, German is a plus

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in life science industry beneficial
  • Experience with patent search
