Job Summary:

To provide program support and administration ensuring that all programs, core components, initiatives, policies, and reporting mechanisms are developed, implemented, and administered within UMMC and granting agency policies and deadlines.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Good oral and written communication skills. Solid interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, patients, physicians, and registered nurses. Basic knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to lead/work in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists investigators; program directors; senior sponsored program administrator; and/or manager, sponsored program administrator in ensuring that all program activities are developed, implemented, and administered according to granting agency guidelines.
  • Corresponds with study sponsors, UMMC office of compliance, office of research, and accounting personnel on matters related to study documentation, records, and data.
  • Participates in preparation of annual progress reports, budget justifications, and other funding agency deliverables. Writes sections of and compiles grant proposals and summaries. Formats proposal/progress reports to guidelines; edits and proofreads.
  • Prepares IRB/IACUC/radiation safety/bio hazard compliance documents and oversees maintenance of regulatory documents, files, and reports.
  • Monitors study budgets and invoices to insure compliance with UMMC policies and federal regulations.
  • Works on special projects and/or committees as may be developed or assigned by principal investigator.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
