Senior Web Developer

As a Barclays Senior Web Developer, you will have an exciting opportunity to actively contribute to platform enhancements requested by the product owner or business users. What will you be doing?

  • Being responsible for working on all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of software
  • Focusing on good code quality and high test coverage and actively participate in code reviews
  • Contributing to the delivery of complex projects in collaboration with global teams across Barclays
  • Participating DevOps improvements for applications maintained by the team
  • Being responsible for designing and implementing changes in environment configuration, deployment automation, application monitoring
  • Engaging with business and technology partners to assist with the planning and execution of project work is expected
  • Delivering effectively complex projects involving multiple business and technical teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience and excellent skills in JS & Typescript and proficient with HTML5, CSS 3, SASS & Responsive design
  • Experience building modern webapps preferable with Angular 3+ framework
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies such as HTTP(s), REST and JSON as well as of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility
  • Experience with writing unit tests jasmine, mocha, jest or karma

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience with source control systems (e.g. Git), Issue-tracking systems (e.g. JIRA), Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum/Kanban) 
  • Experience with DevOps tools: CI tools (e.g. TeamCity/Jenkins)
  • Experience with: Webapp framework React, Vue, Svelte, etc. or ELK Stack (ElasticSearch) or User Analytics tools, NodeJS environment, Express, Next.js, NPM, NVM, etc
  • Experience with Test automation with Selenium, Cypress or similar or UI/UX Design tools, figma, Adobe XD, Sketch

Where will you be working?

Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague. We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing. What matters the most to us is the way our ingenuity can help provide better service to our customers and make life easier for our employees.
