About the Job

While the Detroit office is not a new location for Bose, the HR Business Partner is a new critical role in that location to support our plans for future growth. You will support multiple client groups. You will primarily partner with the SVP of our Automotive business to create the right talent, organizational design, and change strategies to support the growing and changing Automotive business, which includes teams in the Detroit office, and cross collaboration with your non-US HR counterparts to lead talent initiatives for Automotive employees worldwide, including Germany, Sweden, Japan and China. In addition to supporting the Automotive division, you will have a broader scope of HRBP responsibilities that touches other functions and locations across the Company. 

As an HRBP, you will act as a strategic partner to the business by embedding corporate HR strategy into day-to-day work and providing professional HR guidance and support to the business with the objective of adding value. You will be a thought partner to establish a talent strategy with your business leaders that integrates and leverages our essence and values and drives a culture of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging. You will gain a deep understanding of our business strategies and talent needs and will integrate your knowledge into our culture.

Human Resources professionals play an important role in our business and our culture. We not only have a seat at the table, but we are also expected to have a voice in the employee experience and the work environment. This role will work in partnership with senior business partners and other HR colleagues in a matrixed fashion to provide support to a variety of Bose businesses and functions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, culture, structures, and processes.
  • Support leaders in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function or business strategy.
  • Strategic HR advisor to senior leadership. Facilitate a strong leadership and coaching culture.
  • Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda.
  • Assist business unit leaders in providing employees with development opportunities that align with current and future performance standards.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to employees when appropriate.
  • Understand and solicit employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns. 
  • Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR initiatives.
  • Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement. Foster strong collaborative HRBP community; cross divisional collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between the business and HR functional areas to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs.
  • Operationalize HR processes and initiatives such as performance management, annual compensation changes, or talent and succession planning for the business, partnering with other global HR colleagues.
  • Identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the business.

About You

Key competencies and experiences:

  • 5-7 years of Human Resource Business Partner experience, or equivalent experience.
  • As the most Senior HR role on location, the successful candidate must have the ability to act independently, maturely, and role model Bose leadership behaviors.
  • As this role is expected to work globally and is not located in the Headquarters, the most effective candidate will build relationships, navigate resources, and work collaboratively with remote colleagues.
  • Experience with Automotive in an OEM or Tier 1 Supplier
  • Digital and software fluency and experience with software and technical talent preferred.
  • Substantial business acumen and the ability to develop clear HR strategies that support and enable measurable business outcomes.
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy
  • Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy.
  • Data based decision making and able synthesize quantitative and qualitative data and use it to recognize trends and inform recommendations.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence people.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, and customer service skills
  • Significant knowledge of HR practices and talent management practices
  • Taking on opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Embracing “can do” attitude.
  • Adaptability: comfort with unanticipated changes of direction or approach.
  • Hybrid work schedule; must be able to work on-site at least 3 days per week.
  • Must be able to travel periodically both globally and to other US locations.
