Application Developer II (Onsite: St. Louis, MO)

Job Description

This position will be onsite at the following address:

1281 N Warson Road / St. Louis, MO 63132 

Summary:

As a member of the in-house development team, works closely with other team members and business owners to develop, enhance and maintain developed systems. Under the guidance of team leads and senior team members, assists in the design, development and implementation of new solutions for a wide variety of software application needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to, and at times leads, all phases of systems development
  • This includes analysis of current business processes and workflow, solution design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance. 
  • Because of the regulatory environment in which the organization exists, all these activities must include the consideration to ensure data security and compliance with various regulations.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for existing systems by interacting with business users and providing additional technical details to senior developers when necessary.
  • Develop integrations with and aid in the customization of new and existing vendor software solutions
  • Troubleshoot and fix/enhance/update existing applications and systems as needed.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a development team throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Act as both a mentor and mentee, proactively sharing accrued knowledge with team members and seeking out opportunities to acquire knowledge from others
  • Actively and independently stay current with development technologies, methods and practices.
  • Engage in planning sessions to map out work items/tasks and ensure that they are completed with quality and as scheduled.
  • Rotating on-call responsibilities in support of developed services

Qualifications:

  • Working skill levels in development framework tools and technologies including software service virtualization, software development continuous integration processes and delivery applications
  • Experience with application testing
  • Team player, desire to work in a team environment
  • Displays initiative and makes decisions independently
  • Interacts and communicates effectively with other associates at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize effectively
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude – client, teams and technologies will change with each new challenge
  • Able to engage and deliver on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Motivated with strong desire and ability to learn
  • Effective at mentoring other team members

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Three to five years’ experience with .Net (VB/C#), Force.com (Apex) and/or Object-Oriented design
  • Three to five years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, writing stored procedures and utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Must have experience with distributed systems and multi-tier architectures
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of security implications introduced by web-based systems
  • Experience in the financial services industry (Or relevant combination of education and experience.)

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Microsoft TFS
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Reporting tools such as Crystal Reports/Microsoft Reporting Services
  • Salesforce
