Biostatistician DOM Channing - (3279338)
The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston is looking for a Biostatistical Analyst. The Biostatistical Analyst will design and perform statistical analyses of large datasets from multiple studies of chronic lung disease. Working independently, under the direction of the Principal Investigator, s/he will design and perform statistical analyses of clinical, biobank, and omic datasets (that may include genetics, epigenetics, RNA, miRNA, metabolomics), including data curation, cleaning, and implementation of complex statistical models. The primary focus of this position will be creating and curating clinical data using electronic medical records, followed by analyses of these data.
1. Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, researches, develops, and applies statistical models for analysis, inference, and prediction from multiple large datasets.
2. Collaborates with the biobank and bioinformatics staff for data cleaning and quality control of genomic datasets.
3. Provides regular reports of data curation and analysis to investigator and collaborators.
4. Adheres to rigorous principles of reproducible research and data documentation.
5. In collaboration with investigators and trainees, contributes to scientific literature, reports, journal publications, and presentations.
6. Assists in orientation and training of post-doctoral fellows and other personnel as needed.
Masters degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, biostatistics, programming, or epidemiology. MPH with concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics is acceptable with appropriate post-graduate experience.
1+ years of post-graduate research experience is preferred, but not required for candidates with strong academic credentials and appropriate graduate school research experience.
