Cath Lab Tech - Travel and Local Contracts - Allied Health Professional
This role provides direct clinical patient care with Tenet's in-house contingent Pool, Trusted Resource Associates. Work directly with Tenet on a Travel Contract or Local Contract. With this in-house assignment you will be part of the contingent workforce pool, yet, a W-2 Tenet employee and wear a Tenet employee badge so you blend in as staff and are not outstanding as a Contractor. You will have direct access to Tenet's hiring managers and, if you ever turn permanent at a Tenet hospital, you will have built up tenure.
Job Description and Requirements
The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for providing technical and patient support and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assist physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures. Operates all equipment safety and correctly. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. The technician is authorized to be in the presence of medication.
Requirements:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 6 months in Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year proving cardiac cath, radiology care
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE · American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT); or · Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) · State License- (Eg. Arizona MRTBE license)
CPR-Basic Life Support – American Heart Association

Education:
Required: Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent, basic EKG course.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Radiology or equivalent.
Experience:
Required: 6 months in cath lab/cardiac intervention lab.
Preferred: 1 year experience providing cardiac cath, radiology care.
Certifications:
Required: AHA BLS, ARRT or RCIS certification.
Preferred: ARRT (CV), (CI) or (VI); AHA ACLS.
Physical Demands:
Assesses physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of the patient. Completes pre, intra and post procedure assessment. Informs nurse/MD of any changes in patient’s condition. Develops a plan of care for procedure being performed, plan of care is individualized to include specific patient problems, needs and scheduled procedure. Provides teaching and guidance to patient and/or family as well as staff members. Able to execute x-ray for desired views - abdominal aorta gram, runoff, division. Stores and print images. Sets priorities for care of patients based on patient's needs and resources available. Identifies and performs appropriately in emergency patient care solutions. Has knowledge of set up and monitoring of IABP. Assists with set-up, insertion, and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers.
