Full Stack Research Engineering Manager / Enterprise Application – Labs Legal Tech

Thomson Reuters Labs is seeking a Research Engineering Manager with experience developing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications. As a member of Thomson Reuters Labs Legal Tech, you’ll join a team contributing to the success of market-leading contract analysis and drafting products, like Document Intelligence and CoCounsel.
What does Thomson Reuters Labs do?
We do research and development, advancing technology to deliver new products to legal, tax, and news markets. As a Research Engineering Manager at Thomson Reuters Labs, you will be part of Labs’ Legal Tech, a cross-disciplinary team focused on automating workflows for legal document drafting, analysis, and review using ML/AI, including using LLMs (Large Language Models) to develop Generative AI skills and enable agent driven workflows.
In this role, you will own and operate a strategically important and closely related enterprise applications:
1. A web application that enables subject matter experts (i.e., lawyers) to label, train, and deploy new machine learning models. Tech stack – C#, .NET, SQL, Elasticsearch, Angular, stack deployed to Azure
2. A backend REST service responsible for hosting those models and coordinating document processing, to process millions of documents per month on behalf of our products and customers. Tech stack – Distributed system design, Azure Service Bus, Python and Rust components.
