About your Manager:

Tomáš Vlk is the director in the indirect tax team of tax and legal services at PwC. Tomáš has 13 years of experience working at PwC, and in recent years, he has also been focusing on tax technologies that make life easier for clients and simplify their processes. The tax technology team works on various projects; in the area of process optimization, they have worked on streamlining approximately 80-100 processes, which have resulted in significant time and cost savings. The experience gained from these projects is something we strive to incorporate into the tax services provided by PwC. We are involved in regional and global technology groups, dedicate ourselves to international projects, and last but not least, we also engage in artificial intelligence and develop workflows in the Alteryx tool.

Job Description and Summary:

As a Tax Technology Manager for our technology team based in Prague, you will be a key player in driving both internal and external technological transformations. You will be implementing tax tools (engines), envisioning new ones, and making a significant impact on the Czech market and beyond, within the broader CEE tax technology community.

Your role will involve a blend of technical, mathematical, and business expertise. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating closely with our expert team to develop valuable solutions for our PwC clients.
  • Aiding clients in understanding the key drivers of their current and future success and addressing strategic and operational challenges.
  • Utilizing your expertise in quantitative business analysis, data mining, and data presentation to provide insights beyond the numbers.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with various project stakeholders through both verbal and written means.
  • Implementation and support of reporting applications.
  • Active promotion, sale, and offering of the team's services as part of customer inquiries.
  • Cooperation with the customer in the area of identifying business requirements.
  • Active participation in ensuring the appropriate quality of products.
  • Analysis and consulting in the area of optimization of business processes and their reflection in IT tools.

Requirements of the role:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the area of finance, taxes and accounting.
  • Experience in overseeing and hands-on involvement in the implementation, support, development, and/or operation of tax engines (i.e ERP or tax reporting applications).
  • Fluent in English - also work in an international environment.
  • Willingness to develop in the field of international tax settlement processes, supported ERP systems, and technologies for building tax applications.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel).
