Head of software development team in Aarhus

This is your unique opportunity to spearhead the establishment of and head a team of Software Developers and Architects within our existing Defence Services organisation. In this role, you will drive growth and employ your leadership skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders within an agile and high-tech environment.

Join us in making a significant impact on the future of our product extensions and services

Our customer base continues to expand, which is leading to a growing demand to integrate our products into customers’ equipment and infrastructure as well as extending the products with customer-specific functionality. Consequently, we have continued to grow our Bespoke software development team in Aarhus, Denmark, and the time has now come to split the team into two independent teams.

Both teams will continue to be part of our Defence Services organisation and operate in an international environment with customers around the world. Working alongside the current Defence Services organisation, the teams will be responsible for developing customer-specific extensions and functionality for the SitaWare and IRIS product suites using the APIs exposed by the products.

Leadership, software development and stakeholder engagement

You will build, lead and develop a high-performance software development team which is responsible for customer-specific extensions to the Systematic SitaWare and IRIS product suites. Once fully established, the team will comprise yourself and up to ten Software Developers as well as Architects and Test Engineers.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to plan daily work and create the right environment for the team to achieve its goals and work efficiently.
  • Manage, lead and set the direction for the team while ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction.
  • Motivate and challenge team members to continuously improve and excel.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on expected and agreed outcomes.
  • Monitor progress, identify deviations and implement corrective actions for efficient and reusable extension module creation.
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to ensure that solutions are built for reusability and meet overall program objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the team and across Defence Services.

You should expect occasional travel to participate in customer visits in different parts of world.

Additionally, we are also looking for:

  • a background in software development and experience at managing software development teams
