KMGH, the E.W. Scripps Company ABC station in Denver, Colorado is looking for an energetic and engaging Weekday Morning Anchor to bring their talents to one of the most dynamic news markets in the country. The best fit for this position doesn’t want to be trapped behind a desk or tied to a teleprompter. We’re looking for someone who wants to be a part of the community they live in and tell the stories of their neighbors. You should also be a great teammate who’s committed to collaborating with and supporting your co-workers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Anchor morning broadcasts Monday-Friday.
  • Research, gather, write, and develop news content for multiple platforms.
  • May report live on location from various news events.
  • Perform various community service activities for station, including performing as master of ceremonies for public service events and as host/hostess for station events.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelors degree in relation discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • Generally, 6+ years on-camera experience preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Must connect on camera with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to cultivate sources and mine stories.
  • Knowledge of newsroom computers and computer databases strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong news judgment and organizational skills.
  • Must have keen sense of logistics and ability to work well under intense pressure and deadlines.
  • Must have good creative and editorial judgment, mastery of journalistic ethics, and libel law.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual Salary: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in Colorado.
