Job Summary:

The Client Success and Operations team at The Washington Post is the central hub of expertise for the successful planning, management, and delivery of all digital and print advertising. This team supports all client campaigns to deliver best in class service and drive performance around digital and print executions. This department of interconnected teams perform specialized tasks across different systems and functions in support of campaign execution and order fulfillment.

The Advertising Operations & QA Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless deployment and optimal performance of custom advertisements across digital platforms for The Washington Post. This position is vital in upholding the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality content and engaging experiences to its audience while meeting the diverse needs of advertisers. By collaborating with various stakeholders, the Specialist plays a key role in the successful execution of advertising campaigns, thereby supporting the financial sustainability and continued growth of The Washington Post. Responsibilities:

  • Custom Creative Development:
  • Build custom creatives for deployment across various digital platforms, including desktop, mobile, video, email, and podcasts.
  • Collaborate closely with Campaign Managers to understand specific requirements and ensure creative alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Hand off completed builds to Campaign Managers for trafficking.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Testing and Issue Resolution:
  • Conduct rigorous QA checks on technical work related to product innovations, publisher initiatives, custom projects, and internal creative builds to ensure they adhere to established quality and performance standards.
  • Identify and address any issues or discrepancies, guaranteeing error-free and high-quality final outputs
  • Partner with Campaign Managers to proactively identify and troubleshoot campaign-related issues, including errors and creative/tag issues that may impact campaign performance for custom builds
  • Partner with ad engineering as an end user of the Ad Builder, contributing to the QA process for new ad products before release.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of ad creative builds, technical issues, and resolutions.
  • Provide regular reports on QA findings and issue resolutions to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of digital and/or print advertising experience
  • Proven experience in advertising operations
  • Expert knowledge of ad serving platforms like Google Ad Manager
  • Strong critical thinking.
  • Service-oriented, results-driven and exhibits a strong sense of ownership.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Asana, or similar project management/ticketing systems

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:

64,300.00 - 96,500.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
