Senior Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC Technician

Copper River Enterprise Services is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC Technician to perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair to the facilities’ HVAC for the US in Islamabad, Pakistan throughout all facilities on the New Embassy Compound/NewConsulate Compound (NEC/NCC) to include office buildings, grounds, out buildings, ancillary structures, and residential owned/leased properties. 

This position reports to the Senior Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor and is in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Monitor the performance of heating, cooling, and related systems by interpreting the energy management system alarms and temperature and pressure differentials, troubleshoots problems, and adjust when necessary. Perform preventive maintenance work based on equipment manufactures recommended procedures and the facilities computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Maintain accurate records of buildings systems and equipment and ensure there are ample spare parts and materials in stock to keep systems operational
  • Perform skilled mechanical maintenance by inspecting and testing elements of facilities systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions
  • Monitor the performance of heating, cooling, and related systems by interpreting the energy management system alarms and temperature and pressure differentials
  • Assure the proper operation of a wide variety of mechanical systems and devices including pumps, motors, and compressors
  • Perform preventive maintenance to keep facilities systems to prescribed operating standards and/or performance rates
  • Troubleshoot problems, and adjust and/or perform required repairs using hand tools and precision measuring and testing devices
  • Provide detailed estimate of repair (and/or replacement) costs beyond the capability to perform
  • Repair existing facilities systems according to work orders or verbal instructions by inspecting the work site to determine the materials, equipment, tool requirements, and method to be used, develop a plan, or lay out for the project or following a blueprint, sketch, or schematic, and assemble, fabricate, or build and install materials, equipment, or fixtures as required
  • Ability to work Monday through Saturday workweek

Requirements: 

  • Education:
  • Completion of secondary school required.
  • Must be a graduate of a State approved/accredited or military program that provided formal HVAC Journeyman level instruction and training; and have hands-on experience (to have been completed within the last 8 years), in rehabilitation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of new and older HVAC building systems and equipment; or hold a valid Master license at a State level.
  • HVAC technician must also hold a current EPA-approved CFC Universal certification for high and low-pressure refrigerants, and shall be familiar with/be able to comply with regulations governing the use of CFC refrigerants.
  • Must have completed a course of study covering the principles of air conditioning, heating, and ventilation (HVAC), system design, system maintenance and troubleshooting, the various types of Freon and their uses, building pressurization, indoor air quality, and other specialized applications is required
  • Clearance:
  • Top Secret
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years mechanical experience with overseas HVAC
  • Minimum of five (5) years of journey-level experience in the installation, operations, repair, and maintenance of commercial or industrial HVAC/mechanical refrigeration systems.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience operating, maintaining, or repairing 100-ton chillers or larger, and large air-handling units is required. Work experience must demonstrate a progression of increased responsibility working on complex sophisticated equipment and components, including operation and maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Valid driver’s license for vehicle operation and ability to maintain it
  • Good working knowledge to identify and mitigate safety hazards and capable to ensure Facilities comply with local environmental, U.S. OSHA, and local safety standards
  • Ability to manage critical, time sensitive projects that require extensive coordination across program and organizational lines
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals in garnering cooperation and support for key planning, operations, and management initiatives in the assigned program area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
