As a Senior Security Engineer you will be a key member of the Information Security team ensuring security across the company. You will help confirm that sensitive data is protected and make sure we have the right tools implemented to maintain trust. You will also help our software engineers be successful by sharing your knowledge and working to prevent any vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in our cloud environments from being exposed.

Role Responsibilities - How You Will Make an Impact

  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions and controls for cloud-based infrastructure, platforms, and applications
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
  • Implement and manage cloud-native security tools and technologies, such as AWS Security Hub and Azure Security Center
  • Manage security tools across multi-cloud environments (e.g., EDR solutions)
  • Implement security policies, standards, and best practices, across the organization
  • Respond to security alerts, perform incident response and track cyber actions from initial detection to final resolution, and conduct root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, IT, and development teams, to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices
  • Automate security solutions to drive continuous compliance across the infrastructure
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in cloud security, and recommend security enhancements and improvements as needed

Relevant Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms, including GovCloud and C2S
  • Direct experience with intrusion prevention systems
  • Experience with system logging and SIEM technologies
  • Experience with cloud native security tools such as IAM, WAF, and CSP
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tools, technologies, and methods
  • Experience implementing and maintaining security in a software development organization
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Python and Golang
  • Experience with US government secure networks
  • Cloud security certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

This role will consider applicants from Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Texas or the DC Metro Area.

The annual cash compensation range for this position is US$160,000 to US$188,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.

Primer works closely with the U.S. defense and intelligence establishment. Any offer of employment is conditioned on an applicant or employee being able to meet any applicable government contract requirements.
