ASML is at the leading edge of enabling the semiconductor industry – a key component of the digital economy. We invent and develop complex technology and machinery used to create transistors and computing chips. With long product cycles, it is essential that ASML has strategic insight from our Customers and the semiconductor ecosystem. The Senior Strategic Marketing Manager for China will work to ensure long term ASML business success through understanding of semiconductor ecosystem, market and technology changes and ensuring current and future ASML investment strategy on both product and production are aligned to cope with customer and market dynamics. 

Role and responsibilities

  • Align Customer capacity scenarios to end market demand and align market opportunity for new and installed systems extending the horizon beyond account team’s visibility including disruptive factors beyond market driven demand.
  • Identify, investigate and strategize the impact of market and technology developments on ASML’s future business and opportunities. Ensure embedding in ASML’s corporate strategy.
  • Develop and align competition analysis and competitive positioning strategy.
  • Drive voice of Customer in ASML long-term strategy process, support aligning long-term customer roadmaps and node requirements. 
  • Work closely together with customer teams, business lines, and corporate strategy teams.
  • Align insights over multiple regions and assess impact on China market of extra-regional developments.
  • Utilize modern data analytical and visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI) to facilitate market understandings and management decision makings.

Context of the position

  • The Strategic Marketing team in each region is the remote unit of ASML Strategy Office, providing customer and market insights that guide ASML’s overall long-term product and investment strategy. This sector works closely together with the business lines (product owners), the customer teams (customer interface), and executives from both HQ and regional office.
  • This position reports to the Head of Strategic Marketing China and interfaces internally with Account Management, Business Lines, Strategy Office, Country management teams, etc. and externally with the strategy & marketing teams at the customer, industry consultants and experts.

Education and experience

Bachelor in Engineering or Physical Science; MBA or additional business degree is a strong plus.

Experience

  • 10+ years of industry experience in electronic hardware technology, of which roles in semiconductor manufacturing and design are highly preferred.
  • Recognized industry professional with broad understanding of semiconductor technology, markets and ecosystem.
  • Proven record in customer and executive communication and presentation
  • Experience of Lithography systems and customer application strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Deep analytical skills and data-driven mindset.
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Excellent communicator and presenter in both Chinese and English – including bridging across cultures.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and influence without power. 
  • Ability to build bridges across disciplines, both on an executive level, and on an expert technical level.
