You will be a project manager representing the end user client, taking the proactive actions in managing and coordinating all stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and suppliers. Individual project values up to US$6m and over.

Job Description

Overview

A project-based role to manage and be accountable for the planning, scheduling, and support construction management and complies with the requirements of the procedures and policies. Reporting to the Project Manager and functionally reports to Project Controls team in order to ensure that the project is successfully delivered on time and quality, incorporating approved changes and assessing the potential risks for proposed construction project plans and process for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management tasks.

  • Interact with Project Manager and various key players involved in the project implementation to establish work scope and develop work strategies with proper sequence and durations and compliant to project master plan.
  • Ensure that the Project Manager is provided with support and advice on all aspects of Project Controls.
  • Coordinate and act as the primary interface with the Project Controls department.
  • Responsible for site construction projects to comply to defined global work processes, reports and procedures at project level.
  • Ensure all projects follow global business processes and standards & ensure adherence to best practice project management principles following Project Execution Plan for the project delivery services.
  • Assist to coordinate Lesson Learned session for projects with all stakeholders.
  • Project Control Schedule scope includes but not limited to:
  1. Responsible for consolidating Weekly Project Report (WPR) and Monthly Project Report (MPR).
  2. Ensure all stakeholders aligned prior to finalizing a baseline for the project.
  3. Review and monitor Contractor Schedule in Primavera (P6) and/or Microsoft Project
  4. Host weekly schedule review meeting with Contractor to review Schedule Control Plan, Manpower Plan and Productivity Plan.
  5. Review Contractor’s Overall Schedule including subcontractors’ and direct vendors’ schedule.
  6. Verify Contractor submitted Progress Measurement methods and Procedure.
  7. Check and verify Project progress report by discipline submitted by Contractor weekly.
  8. Responsible for the development of Overall progress chart which includes Progress chart by discipline (by contract if applicable). Ensure Contractors progress measurement is aligned with company procedure.
  9. Monitor, evaluate, and report progress, performance & trends.
  10. Support the development and update in global platform and ensure standardization is effectively used in the project schedule.
  11. Identify potential risks / problem areas and advice Project manager as well as the management with mitigation plan weekly, monthly and/or quarterly, as and when instructed by the management.
  12. Identify schedule Risks and Opportunities, collaborate with Project team to meet client’s objectives by delivering projects within the timeline set out.
  13. Ensure as-built schedule is prepared within 30 days after project achieved last key milestone.

Qualifications

  • Degree in any engineering disciplines / project management / construction or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in relevant field in construction industry for the following field: oil and gas / Petrochem / Pharma / Commercial Building / Semiconductor industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Project Services or served in a multitude of roles managed by the Project Services group, like planning/scheduling and cost engineering experience in an engineering and construction environment.
  • Takes ownership with the ability to work independently as part of a wider group.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and be an effective communicator.
  • High proficient at MS office, Primavera, Microsoft Project etc.
