000562 ORGANIZATIONAL CNSLT 4

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President of Health IT Operations, and the Chief Information Officer for Health, the Health IT Service Transition Process Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, management and facilitation of ITIL-based Service Transition Processes across the Health Information Technology, including, but not limited to, technical Change Management.

This position will independently use and apply wide-ranging experience and proficiency in organizational development, effectiveness, business process analysis and strategic planning on projects that involve multiple organizations and stakeholders to further the process standardization needs of Health IT. The incumbent will use advanced organizational development professional concepts and organization objectives to resolve complex organizational development, design, and effectiveness issues and regularly work on highly complex issues of strategic engagements where analysis of circumstances and information requires an in-depth evaluation of factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

ITIL is an ITSM best practice framework we have chosen for UCSF. It is the most widely accepted approach to ITSM worldwide and contains 26 ITSM processes. We use the “adopt and adapt” approach rather than blindly trying to introduce all 26 processes. These 26 processes are divided into five stages of the service lifecycle: Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation, and Continual Service Improvement.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
