VP OPERATIONS

McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize all aspects of our manufacturing processes. As the VP of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, productivity, customer satisfaction and quality across our organization.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration, end-to-end accountability, and continuous learning. Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and performance.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute the company's operations strategy, aligning it with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Manufacturing Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, efficiency, and productivity. Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce costs while maintaining the highest product quality.
  • Drive for Results: Drive a results-oriented culture by setting clear goals, providing performance feedback, and promoting accountability among team members.
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and capacity strategies to meet customer demand. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales supply chain, and finance, to ensure effective production planning and resource allocation.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality standards, processes, and controls throughout the manufacturing operations. Implement rigorous quality management systems and drive continuous improvement to ensure the delivery of fire trucks that meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor operational performance. Regularly assess and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees. Implement and maintain effective safety protocols and procedures throughout the manufacturing operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in OEM operations management, preferably in the automotive or heavy equipment sector.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality control methodologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence, process improvement, and cost optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and results-oriented approach.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
