Senior Software Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to work within a team of engineers to develop high-quality applications servicing the financial industry. You will have the opportunity to work on high value products in the RWS space that support our customers in providing excellent financial solutions.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in software and quality engineering.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, RestAssured, Cypress, BDD, Selenium, TestNG, SoapUI.
  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS required.
  • Experience in following would be advantageous : Angular, RESTful services, Jenkins.
  • Experience with continuous integration practices and automated deployment tools.
  • Ability to contribute to the QA automation strategy for our applications.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Some experience of RDBMS, SQL, API development, kafka.

The Skills You Bring

  • Expert knowledge in test automation frameworks and designing and delivering quality assurance related code and solutions using these tools with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to drive and participate in defining the test related technical & coding standards and guidelines for the team or group as well as implementing a strong internal quality specific process, including mentoring and guiding engineers in writing tests in line with principles mentioned here.
  • Deep knowledge of the SDLC process and how different test types from unit to behavioral to component to E2E are used through the cycle.
  • You are central to the curation of the test suites to ensure a minimal comprehensive set (eliminate duplication, recognize gaps).
  • Comfortable working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
  • Passionate about engineering excellence with a strong understanding of test data management.

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure persistent quality.
  • Evolve our processes, practices and standards around test automation.
  • Fully engage in product quality plan efforts, including test case development, design and code reviews, resiliency and regression testing.
  • Engage in working with global team of developers in leading best practices for testing aspects of software engineering.
  • Participate in design reviews and code reviews of test automation.
  • Constantly look for opportunities improve our overall quality process, moving up the value chain and reducing the percentage of your time spent in oversight as you educate the wider team in these aspects and delegate as this becomes ingrained.

The position aligns to the Capital Markets division of FI Tech – Fidelity Institutional Technology. Capital Markets is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity, delivering brokerage and trading solutions worldwide for institutional and retail customers. The engineering team provides software engineering, application development and project management for Capital Markets applications. FBT group provide technical solutions for the Fidelity Institutional business (FI).
