Java AWS Developer - 46947
We are seeking a Java (AWS) Developer to start day 1 onsite in the Columbus, OH office, who is involved in executing creative software solutions, leading system design, development, and troubleshooting. The responsibilities include developing secure and high-quality code, identifying opportunities for automation, leading evaluations with vendors and internal teams, and driving awareness of new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Experience with Java/J2SE/J2EE with a deep understanding of the language and core API's
- Experience with building APIs - RESTful APIs, Web Services, Spring Boot, with strong understanding of Microservices architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Extensive hands-on Application Development work experience throughout the entire project life cycle
- Strong architecture, analysis, design, coding, and code review skills with Internet applications
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including entitlement and IAM policy
- Experience working with AWS Databases
- Experience with deployment in the cloud using Terraform is a strong plus
- Working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/EKS/GCP is a strong plus
