Manager, ILI Product Management – Job Description

The Individual Life Insurance Product Strategy Team is seeking a Manager, Product Management to join our team. This role, supporting our Product Solution Line Leaders and reporting to the Director, Marketing & Distribution Liaison, is focused on identifying marketing, illustration, and sales opportunities to help us win in the marketplace with our portfolio of solutions that help consumers, and their advisors, solve complex financial needs in support of Prudential’s goal of being the Life Insurance Leader.

It requires a strategic attitude to ensure our products are effectively positioned in the marketplace in alignment with our broader business goals. The individual will be responsible for articulating the product strategy, positioning the customer value proposition, and collaborating with key partners to drive sales growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Go-To Market process exhibiting thought leadership and focusing on how we win in the marketplace with our broad product portfolio
  • Partner with product strategy, marketing, competitive intelligence, distribution, and advanced planning on positioning of the customer value proposition for new product launches
  • Provide subject matter expertise for ongoing review of materials
  • Capture customer feedback and provide support for illustrations and coordinated systems
  • Develop deep understanding of the product portfolio, including key sales strategies and industry trends
  • Deploy strong data analytics focus to inform decisions
  • Connect solution strategies to sales, marketing, and operational strategies
  • Lead the market delivery through promotional opportunities, sales training and providing support for complex sales situations
  • Monitor post-launch KPIs and sales results
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and obstacles preventing optimal sales potential

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • MBA or relevant designations preferred (e.g., FSA, MAAA, CLU/ChFC)
  • 4+ years of financial services experience and a solid understanding of the individual life insurance business preferred
  • Prior experience in product strategy, product management, business strategy and/or market/competitive research
  • Capacity to think strategically and analytically to connect a variety of internal and external inputs into a vision and direction
  • Ability to successfully influence and collaborate with professionals at all levels and functions, including senior management and field/sales professionals
  • Proven success of leading others in a matrixed environment
  • Series 6 or successful completion within first 6 months

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $125,000.00 to $186,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
