About The Role 

We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and passionate Director to join our award-winning team in London. Our Digital & Insights practice helps fuel growth and innovation within FTI’s global strategic communications division, and we are proud to work with some of the largest, best known and most innovative companies across the world. Our client list of FTSE 100 and large corporate brands gives us unrivalled opportunity to design, plan and implement world class corporate reputation management strategies.

Our Director will help oversee the management and growth of a portfolio of high-profile corporate clients, motivating a committed and enthusiastic team and developing innovative strategies and programmes to support business development. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of helping manage large, complex client accounts. We value creativity and lateral thinking, and you will need to show both creative flair and a passion for helping clients navigate a complex and challenging stakeholder world.

An experienced and articulate presenter, you will be at home both contributing to new business pitches and presentations to diverse and exacting audiences, including leaders of global businesses. Strategic thinking is a must, and you will manage and implement the day-to-day running of programmes that are effective across multiple channels and platforms. You will be responsible for identifying trends within the communications landscape and will demonstrate an understanding of and/or best practice in areas such as integrated communications planning, issues and crisis management, social media performance, sustainability, purpose and ESG-related communications, and influencer relations.

Our work in the digital practice includes communications strategy planning, issues and crisis communications, influencer identification and outreach, content and channel strategy, paid social and thought-provoking digital campaigns. This means you’ll need to be adaptable and enjoy offering consultancy on a broad range of communications disciplines and competencies.

Digital is causing many of our clients to consider new forms of communications and reputation management and we are at the forefront of managing that change. We think holistically about stakeholders and address media, analyst, investor, employee, and customer audiences with our work.

What You’ll Do 

Deliver to Clients

  • Play a role in managing client relationships alongside other senior team members; creatively prepare and deliver client programmes 
  • Provide strategic advice to a portfolio of clients, manage accounts on a day-to-day basis and develop excellent relationships with clients 
  • Create integrated campaigns for multiple stakeholder audiences, often working in collaboration with sector teams, public affairs, ESG/sustainability and employee engagement specialists from across the firm globally

Build the Business

  • Proactively seeks opportunities to organically grow client relationships
  • Participate in new business pursuits/functional specific initiatives and projects; lead components of client proposals and RFP responses/functional initiatives and projects

Team Involvement

  • Mentor and train junior team members 
  • Support senior management in ensuring team processes are in place and regularly share ideas on ways to evolve these 
  • Share digital and social insights across the team, based on a true passion for creativity, an insatiable thirst for cutting edge knowledge about digital communications
  • Understand and live by FTI's values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice, and work with junior team members to embed these concepts within the firm's culture.

What You Will Need to Succeed 

  • Deep experience with digital and social media channels, tools, and techniques, including being an adept copy writer
  • 5+ years of previous experience in an in-house corporate communications or agency role, working on creative and intelligent campaigns, and handling challenging issues
  • Ability to demonstrate taking day-to-day ownership and accountability for complex client relationships
  • A solid understanding of paid social media, digital analytics, and SEO & PPC
  • A compelling track record of seeking out ways to improve upon and grow service offerings and contribute to business development 
  • The ability to build strong rapport/relationships at all levels within FTI Consulting and client organisations and work effectively within a busy team 
  • The ability to direct projects from concept to conclusion 
  • Accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
