Purpose of Job

  • Grow regional profits by taking responsibility for the execution of development activities and sales in the Polymer Additives market in US.
  • Deliver on multi-year growth targets and budgets aligned with market strategy using value-based pricing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver sales to support growth and profitability targets based on identified opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain pipeline of sales opportunities/customer prospects in the Polymer Additive market in US.
  • Develop and maintain sound business relationships with customers to increase market share and to retain current customer base. Record engagements.
  • Develop/manage relationships with industry stakeholders; uncover and report market trends; recommend (technical) developments and innovation for new market penetration.
  • Interact with internal stakeholders e.g., Marketing to manage all aspects of daily business to ensure customer satisfaction; accountable for OtC cycle and sales forecast accuracy.
  • Work in a global Performance Additives team; exchange knowledge and support colleagues
  • Work with Senior Manager: Sales, Performance Additives to negotiate and manage contracts with customers and distributors and give support on ad-hoc projects as required.
  • A significant portion of the role will be development of new business, so a desire to find and obtain new business is a must.

Formal Education

University Bachelors Degree

Working Experience

  • 12+ years sales experience

Required Personal/Professional Skills

  • Demonstrated technical and sales experience (preferably in the Polymer Additives market) with a track record of closing sales.
  • Analytical skills, excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Customer-service and solution-oriented personality (e.g. self-motivation, delivering high quality solutions and services, demonstrating flexibility)
  • User skills for IT modules corresponding to Sales tasks, familiar with value based pricing.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and independently work on assignment
  • Willingness to travel
