Job Description:

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Principal Engineer-Validation. A candidate placed in this position will be a leader in the USB and Networking Validation Team, focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market, including Ethernet switches, USB 3.2 hubs, PCI-Express, and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25Gbps.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Desired Experience:12+ years

  • Must be capable of managing small team of individual contributors working on common project.
  • Validation plan development and test configuration documentation based on datasheets and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find elusive bugs.
  • Experienced in Analog, Mixed Signal, and development of Power ICs.
  • Able to think of test cases and customer usage model that may violate the assumptions of designers and architects.
  • Design and automate module and system level validation platforms and ensure the platform has all required validation functionality to meet requirements defined in the validation plan.
  • The majority of time is spent doing lab-based post-silicon validation data collection while coordinating product validation for one or more products.
  • Work with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Application Engineering to validate new silicon products
  • Work in the lab to replicate customer issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lead Product Applications Teams to achieve program goals on firm timelines.
  • Manage resolution of silicon issues found during product life cycle.
