Job Description

THE POSITION:

This position in the Medical Communications team is a part of integrated commercial services. The position delivers industry-leading services, which include case processing of adverse event reports, product quality complaint reports, and medical inquiries. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

  • Case processing of adverse event reports, product quality complaint reports, and medical inquiries from physicians, pharmacists, nurses, other health care professionals, and consumers/patients.
  • Identify adverse events and product complaints during data entry of medical inquiries.
  • Utilize writing skills to write adverse event reports, product quality complaint reports, correspondences, medical inquiry responses, and case documentation.
  • Coordinate processes necessary for responding to quality-related complaints. This process may involve interactions with personnel in the following departments: Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and the complainant.
  • Utilize drug information skills to critically evaluate and analyze medical literature in researching and developing information for written dissemination to healthcare professionals.
  • Miscellaneous projects including market and competitive product research, system development, sales training projects, and field liaison support.
  • Medical writing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.)
  • Experience and/or Training: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experiences and/or medical information/pharmacovigilance in healthcare.

Must speak, read, and write in English fluently

Qualifications

  • Experience and/or Training: 2 years or more years of Pharm.D or M.D. experiences in Call Center, Medical Information, pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical industry, and clinical experiences including medical writing.
  • Technology/Equipment: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Window applications. Utilization of Medical Information Management Systems, Safety Databases, or equivalent.
  • Positive Attitude and Energy: Exhibits an upbeat attitude, a genuine interest in others and a sense of humor. Energizes others and heightens morale through her/his attitude.
  • Communication Skills: Possesses the ability to develop and articulate ideas and information that generate understanding and creates a climate that motivates and encourages others to participate.
