We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our Ipsos Interactive Services (IIS) division. The Director of Finance will lead all aspects of financial management for the division, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with both internal and external audit requirements. They will play a critical role in driving financial strategy and supporting the division's growth objectives.

The Director of Finance will report to both the North America SVP of Finance and the IIS Global CFO.

What you can expect to be doing: 

  • Planning - Lead the budget process, including: a five-year strategic plan, annual budgets and ensuring that the process is consistent with Ipsos Group guidelines and aligned with the strategies of the North American business.
  • Provide strong business partner support; an important element of this role is teaming with the Business Unit Leader in running the business and ensuring that it stays on track relative to all key metrics and financial goals. It is important to balance our fiduciary responsibility with the need to help the business drive forward always keeping in mind Ipsos policies and procedures. 
  • Control – Provide financial management for the Business Line and assist in the financial management of the business within North America. Responsible for preparation of management reports, budgets and forecasts in support of the Business Unit Leader
  • Prepare and publish the monthly financial reports. In addition, using the Company’s financial reporting tools, financially manage the business month-to-month and analyze the underlying performance to spot opportunities and issues by product line and with major clients.
  • Monitor Business Unit budgets & forecasts including consolidating results, analyzing results per sector and/or service and communicating results to the Business Unit leader team, as appropriate; reporting results to Business Unit, Country and Regional management.
  • Provide senior financial support on global projects including proforma analysis of project results/projections.
  • Provide financial support for Product Development/Management and Project Management, in North America and in conjunction with the global team, specifically: working from start to finish on each key project to determine costs, providing alternatives and working with internal and external suppliers to obtain accurate and appropriate cost estimates; establishing, tracking, and analyzing key metrics; helping to identify opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
  • Manage vendors: conducts financial reconciliation of AP, support the US and Canadian accounting teams to ensure invoices are processed accurately, ensuring timely payments.
  • Provide Functional Leadership as part of the US and Canadian Finance and Accounting Team: Work well within a team environment including other financial leaders and our accounting center to provide strong leadership, guidance and collaboration. 
  • Coaching and Managing: Direct, lead and provide day to day guidance and coaching to junior finance team members.
  • Manage Ad Hoc Projects as assigned to him/her from time to time.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors both internal and external.

What success in this role looks like: 

  • As a strategic business partner, the successful candidate will create value by providing strategic thinking and analysis in an effort to drive profitable growth for the business.
  • Important initiatives include assessing P&L variances, developing and managing to key sales and business metrics, providing staffing and organizational guidance, and teaming with the Business Unit Leaders in driving toward the started business goals and objectives.
  • His/her role is to assure that internal controls are adequate, that Ipsos’ policies are followed, that accurate information on the business is available on a timely basis and that insightful analysis is performed, and ultimately, to ensure the proper safeguarding of the Company’s assets and interests.

This might be the job for you if you have: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with preferably 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively.
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in financial management practices.

In accordance with NY/CO/CA/WA law, the estimated base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $135,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on several non-discriminatory factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
